Jargon buster

We understand that sometimes that the terminology hotels use is not always easy to decipher, here are a few of the more commonly used abbreviations to help you.

• DDR – Day delegate rate – refers to a hotels 1 day meeting package which is usually based on 8 hours. Your DDR package will generally include – main meeting room, 2 Course Hot/Cold Buffet/3 servings of Tea and Coffee/LCD Screen/Flip Chart/Stationary and Water in the room
• 24 hour rate – as well as including the above you will also get a 3 course dinner, accommodation and breakfast
• A/V – Audio Visual
• B&B – Bed & breakfast
• DBB – Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
• FOC – Free of charge
• RO – Room/accommodation only
• Syndicate/Breakout – Additional meeting room
• USP – Unique selling point, this refers to extras such as spa facilities, golf course, private gardens etc
